This year’s “Campus Harvest” can truly be overwhelming.
There’s just so much open doors in High School and university campuses all over the provinces and cities around our nation. With it are open hearts of almost every student, ready to respond
positively to the message of the gospel.
Just this week, more and more people are confirming this. “We need you in our campus”, “there’s this school I can connect you with” etc. When you truly realize that “the harvest is indeed ripe and is so plentiful, you’ll just run to the One in charge, be caused to pray and desperately ask “Lord send more workers!”
We are indeed living in an exciting times! The Harvest Season is ON. And we believe that its really going to be exceptional!
But how can we make sure that we grow not just in width (in numbers) but also in the depth of our walk with Christ and in living out the gospel as we go about all these season’s excitement?
1. Rely on His spiritual grace not on your spiritual gifts (Humility)
In these times it could be really tempting to wake up in the morning, skim thru scriptures, pray a quick prayer and go out “ to make a difference in the world” right away. Personally, I’m an “activator” and am all about action. This is why all the more I have to go back to the gospel preach it to myself, reminding me that apart from Christ I am nothing and apart from ab
iding in Him I cannot bear much fruit that lasts!
We may be naturally great communicators, gatherers, strategists, teachers and mentors but using our spiritual gifts apart from God’s grace and empowerment can be really dangerous. Humility begets God’s grace and God’s grace is true power!
2. Fight together not against each other (Unity)
We must bear in mind that as God’s people who are saved by grace through faith in Christ alone, we are one body. We can never do God-things on our own.
Instead, we are called to reap the harvest together! We are never to compare and compete against each other instead we are to come together and compliment each other.
We must not care as to who gets the credit. Our primary concern must to get the change lives each of us long to see.
3. Watch your roots not just your fruits (Praying Life)
That feeling when you are used by God in the transformation of other people’s lives-there’s nothing like it! But we must always go beyond the thrill and excitement and keep watch over our hearts. External fruitfulness does not always mean internal spiritual growth.
We keep watch over ourselves by guarding our daily personal worship time with God. Through prayer and God’s word, our hearts are awakened to the reality of God’s unconditional, unending, and unfailing love and mercies that are always brand new every morning!
In a nutshell, its still all about living out the gospel and growing deep in this as Christ followers to the glory of God! After all we are called never to “worship” the harvest but worship God with this great harvest!
Let's Nurture Gospel-Character in this Season!
Happy Reaping to all of us!
