Time and Friendships

“It's not about the length of time but the depth of time.”

This was stated to me by a passionate, enthusiastic, young man I met in Indonesia last week during the World Prayer Assembly 2012. He's a Korean who was raised and born in L.A. met Jesus in Australia, studied in Asia and whose been around some places in the globe! I found out that he was a missionary who was really all out to share the love of Christ to anyone anywhere God would lead him. He's just 21 (I can't mention his name for security reasons) but it was just amazing how he had developed a good network, a number of few friends from other nations whose helping and supporting him in what he has been called to do-primarily through prayers and intercession.

He shared how he values the “spiritual family” God gave him even from other nations that even though they've only met for a short time, the depth of relationship is just more than an acquaintance! It was a great bond stemming from the same amazing grace, the same unconditional love from God, and a shared passion for Jesus and His cause!

Ever had those encounters where you me

et new people who are truly madly-all-about Jesus and then after your meaningful conversation with them you just know you ended up loving Jesus more?

Treasure them! They should be your real friends! Real friends will push you to God more and more never drag you away from Him and His purpose and calling for your life!

“The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand nor the kind smile, nor the joy of companionship, but it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone else believes in him and is willing to trust

him.”

“Is any pleasure on earth as great as a circle of Christian friends by a good fire?”

-C.S Lewis

“A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

-Proverbs  18:24
